Engineering Manager - Golang, Kubernetes (Hands On) - €120,000

OB has partnered with the premier platform for cloud services in Europe to find an Engineering Manager for the platform team. As an Engineering Manager, your responsibilities will include effectively managing and inspiring our team of engineers, providing guidance and support for their personal growth and professional development. Additionally, you will oversee the development and operation of our products that are closely aligned with Kubernetes.

What they're looking for:

  • A dedicated and skilled Engineering Manager with a strong emphasis on Agile methodologies.
  • Extensive proficiency in Golang (or similar languages), along with in-depth knowledge of Kubernetes, Linux, and Cloud Native Technologies.
  • Preferably experienced in K8s Operators, load balancers, GitOps, CI/CD, and APIs.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including effectively managing and guiding software engineers.
  • Track record of successfully delivering products and coordinating releases with various stakeholders.
  • Adept at fostering collaboration across cross-functional teams and engaging with engineering, operations, support, and product departments.
  • Solid experience in developing high-quality products through end-to-end automated testing.
  • Skilled in talent acquisition, recruitment, and retention.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating complex concepts through written, verbal, and presentation formats.

What the day to day will consist of:

  • Engage in hands-on coding while fulfilling managerial duties.
  • Strategise and execute complex technical projects related to network products.
  • Collaborate with technical leads to contribute to product architecture, design, and development.
  • Oversee project schedules and ensure smooth product and feature rollouts.
  • Recruit, coach, and mentor software engineers, implementing processes to enhance team performance and product quality.
  • Foster a healthy team culture by promoting transparent communication.
  • Offer guidance and support through mentoring and one-on-one meetings.
  • Develop and conduct training programs for the engineering team.
